The room is a very bright, classically furnished, very large double room in a split-level semi-detached maisonette. It has a fireplace and a large bay window and includes a large private bathroom. It contains a queen size bed (160x200cm), double wardrobe, 2 bedside tables, chest of drawers, shoe storage and desk as well as a TV/DVD, radio/CD, radio alarm clock and wireless headphones. Upon request, the possibility of a wifi broadband connection for an additional £ 7.00 per month. The bathroom is the size of a single room and it has two large sash windows, a bath with a fitted shower, two cupboards and a laundry basket. The only bit I use in this bathroom is the airing cupboard. There is a spacious kitchen to share fitted with all amenities (dishwasher, washing machine and dryer). The flat also has use of a garden with loads of pear trees. No pets allowed. Please note that the landline is for my private use only. Bedding, bed linen and towels are not included, these items are personal and you must bring your own.

The flat is situated in the highly desirable residential and quiet area of Wandsworth Common. There is on-street non-resident parking available.

Wandsworth Common is 2 minutes away as well as Bellevue Road Village with its boutiques, bars and restaurants and famous Michelin-star Chez Bruce amongst them. Northcote Road with its bars, restaurants and shops is also nearby on the other side of the Common. The flat is also less than 4 miles (6.5 km) from Kensington and Chelsea with a direct bus (319) to the King's Road. Other close by neighbourhoods are: Clapham South, Balham, Southfields, Wimbledon and Putney.

The room is equally ideal as a pied-à-terre in London during the working week if you want to avoid a long commute from Monday to Friday.

Five weeks' deposit are required + the first month's rent as well as one reference from your employer and one character reference from your previous landlord or similar.

I work for an international organization and have lived in different countries prior to moving to London which is my base at the moment. Besides my full-time job, I am studying for a postgraduate degree. I speak French and Spanish as well as English. I would like to find an European ex-pat lodger with a permanent job and from a similar background who is independent and does not rely on me to provide a social life since with my work and study commitments I don't get much time for that. I am looking for someone looking for a place for the short term, not the long-term or permanently. The room is available until 28 February 2009 only.
