First of all, we are laidback going on comatose but are out a lot to cinema, theatre, galleries, to eat, becaus eof our jobs and because of the gym, jogging and the two collie dogs. Two: we have a very very nice house - the sort you're happy to bring people back to to, or throw a chatty Sunday lunch in - with very nice people... though the dogs are frankly nicer.

Here goes: epically large non-smoking Victorian house with original features, across three floors on a quiet road off Brixton Hill.

Bags of space, long, tiled hallway with stained glass front door, big dining room, big front room, big gadget-filled kitchen, shower room, bathroom, back garden, small front garden, big basement, big attic, all recently redecorated, peeled, painted, varnished, refurnished, decluttered– still decluttering – new central heating and wiring installed, with a new fitted kitchen coming. Broadband enabled, wireless and cabled up, nice neighbours.

Your sand and cream double bedroom is on the second floor next to the shower room, overlooking the back garden. It has a comfortable double bed with linen, white wall shelves, a built-in wardrobe, a chest of drawers, bedside drawers, an ornate Victorian fireplace, and is newly carpeted and curtained - though the other, slightly smaller available top floor bedroom is unfurnished. It does have a sink, 32 inch TV, is blue and white, new carpet, curtains, built in wardrobe, plain Victorian fireplace and again, overlooks the back garden, and is basically ensuite, with the Greek mural bathroom right beside. Rent is £650 per month, all other bills £50.

Room one's rent is £700 per month, all bills included, except £15 per week for the cleaner's five hour visit on Fridays (she also does the ironing).

Laidback house, 52 inch TV, home cinema system, would suit professional or mature student. We cook and exercise (free weights, home gym and Pilates gym etc on site). 12 minute walk from Brixton tube station, lmany buses to West End. Residential parking.

I am John, an editor/journalist working on a book, and Victoria is a mature art student.

Two spoiled collies on site, and we are three minutes walk from wonderful Brockwell Park, paradise in the summer.
